Training and Learning

Welcome to the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Children Board learning and development programme.

The HSCB aims to support practitioners in building their skills in inter-agency working for safeguarding children and young people. These programmes build on the level one awareness sessions provided in agencies for their own staff.

The importance of inter-agency cooperation and communication has been highlighted in all reports concerning child deaths and serious injuries, most notably the Laming inquiry into the death of Victoria Climbie. Inter-agency training supports staff in sharing practice, understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities and working effectively both within and across organisations.

This year we are aiming to provide a wide variety of learning programmes and workshops across Hertfordshire. Keep an eye on the booking system to see details of our latest courses and events, including our brand new programme of Lite Bites – short two hour sessions on a specific safeguarding topic. All our courses are run by knowledgeable trainers and experts in the field, so you can be sure that the content of each programme will be interesting, stimulating and that all our training reflects safeguarding best practice within Hertfordshire.

Please consult our training programme below for details of what we have on offer. We look forward to welcoming you to our workshops very soon.
