Graded Care Profile
The Graded Care Profile (GCP) was developed as a practical tool to give an objective measure of the care of children across all areas of need. It aims to provide an indication of care of children on a graded scale. It is important from the point of view of objectivity because the ill effect of poor care in one area may be offset by good care in another area.
In order to achieve a consistent and systematic approach to assessing and responding to neglect across agencies in Hertfordshire, we are trailing the GCP as we want to find out if it is a useful tool to aid assessment and whether it leads to improved outcomes for children living in neglectful environments.
